TVXQ, an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi, is a South Korean pop group formed under SM Entertainment in 2003. In South Korea they are known as Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK); they were later introduced in Japan as Tohoshinki  in 2005. Their name translates as "The Rising Gods of the East".

The group was formed by 5 members:Hero (Kim JaeJoong), U-Know (Jung Yoon Ho),Micky (Park Yoochun), Xiah (Kim Junsu) y Max (Shim Changmin).

Because of legal issues,as on July 31, 2009 three members stated that the 13-year contract was excessively long and that the group's earnings were not fairly distributed to the members, their contracts with SM Entertainment were ended, these three members of TVXQ (Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu)debuted in Japan in 2010 as JYJ, and later with a global debut in October with the English language album The Beginning.
U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin, who are still under SM Entertainment's contract, continued their music career under the band name of TVXQ starting with new album, Keep Your Head Down, release in South Korea in early January 2011.

In response to that lawsuit, 120,000 TVXQ fans filed a petition against SM Entertainment’s long-term contracts to the Seoul District Court and also, TVXQ's Korean fanclub Cassiopeia,  filed for compensation from SM Entertainment for the cancelled SM Town Live Concert, as both SM and TVXQ initially stated that the concert would go on as planned and that concert was cancelled a week before its scheduled date.

In 2008, TVXQ made it in the Guinness World Records for having the world's largest official fan club. Cassiopeia, the band's official fan club, is claimed of having more than 800,000 official members just in South Korea , more than 200, 000 official memeber in Japan (Bigeast)and more than 200, 000 international fans (icassies).

They also made the Guinness World Records a second time in 2009. Aside from the world's largest fan club, the group was also listed in the world record book as the most photographed celebrities in the world. From the day of their debut to March 19, 2005, the five members are estimated to have been photographed about 500 million times in magazines, albums jackets, and commercials, etc.

2PM is a South Korean boy band, originally a seven-member group, but currently consisting of six membersdue to the sudden contract termination of leader Jaebeom following an Internet controversy in September 2009. They are managed by JYP Entertainment. The current members are Junsu, Junho, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung and Chansung.

2PM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member (before Jaebeom's departure) boy band One Day, the other being 2AM. 2PM's and 2AM's training days were filmed in a documentary called Hot Blood Men, which aired on Mnet. The show documented the time by time training program of the JYP trainees who were to be part of the group "One Day", as well as the elimination of three trainees from the group during the time.

They debuted with the song "10 Jeom Manjeome 10 Jeom" ( 10 Points Out of 10 Points), which showcased their acrobatic dance styles.

On September 4, 2009, articles surfaced on the internet regarding Jaebeom's posts from 2005 on his personal Myspace account, in which he expressed his dislike for Korea while still a trainee for JYP Entertainment. Jaebeom issued an apology regarding this matter. Although  protesters demanded that Jaebeom should be forced out of 2PM, JYP Entertainment  stated on September 7 that he was going to continue to remain part of the group. The following day, Jaebeom announced that he would be leaving the group and returning to the United States, with plans of going back to school and bettering his understanding of music, and also apologized to the other 2PM members for not being a good leader and older brother to the group.Park Jin-young CEO of JYP Entertainment has confirmed that he will respect the singer's decision, and that 2PM will continue on as a 6-member group.

On February 25, 2010, JYP Entertainment announced that  Jaebeom would not be returning to 2PM, as his contract with the company had been permanently terminated.
